Many people don’t realize that Ayden is an official Main Street town, so I wanted to take a moment to introduce Downtown Ayden, Inc. and what that means for you.

Main Street is a nationally recognized program designed to support historic downtowns by strengthening local businesses, preserving character, and creating places people want to visit, shop, and invest. 

Downtown Ayden, Inc is the non-profit implementing the program. That's where we come in!  You've got a group of more than 40 people working to make our Downtown Thrive!

What Main Street brings to Downtown Ayden:

• Marketing and promotion for downtown businesses/organizations

• Access to grants and funding opportunities

• Planning and technical assistance

• Statewide exposure through NC Main Street

What we’re working on this year:

• Updating our downtown historic district

• Rebranding Downtown Ayden to reflect a more fresh welcoming vibe

• Building a new Downtown Ayden website to hold a wide range of information for you and our visitors

• Bringing together the Business Community so we can thrive together!

These efforts are focused on increasing visibility, strengthening our downtown identity, and supporting the businesses and organizations like you're that make Ayden special.
