Walking into this store for the first time was a great experience. The lady at the register greeted me as soon as I stepped in. This store has everything you can name. Even the ladies working on the floor were very polite. The assistance finding what I needed was very greatly appreciated. I most definitely will be back! Thanks

Let me tell you about Coltrain Hardware. First, it is owned by a person who lives and works for and in Ayden, NC. Mrs. Coltrain, yes, Coltrain's is owned and operated by a woman, like me. In my world, women owned businesses are not the norm and usually better than average. The store is neat and complete. I can pull right up to the front door and park. No more walks across a large parking lot before I even enter the store. I am greeted at the door by friendly staff who are happy to help me find what I need. There is a bit of everything and usually a solution for any home maintenance problem. Paint, hardware, power tools, gardening tools, a key machine (super important) and even honey and household items. The store is clean and neat. You can tell they care about it and it SHOWS. I pop in sometimes just to see what is new. Remember the Hardware store in your hometown? That is Coltrain's, but better. Mrs. Coltrain cares about every customer and will always make it right. Because none of us are perfect. But if I were going to shoot for perfection, I would be like Coltrain Hardware.

I love shopping at Coltrain hardware! The staff is very knowledgeable about the products they have! They help you from the time you walk in the door to the time you leave. They have everything you need, power tools, paint, plumbing, electrical, flowers, plants, and so much more. You walk in and immediately feel like you are part of the family! Coltrain hardware is your friendly neighborhood one stop shop!

I absolutely love Coltrains! I typically buy the household products, paint or other small things for small home things. The natural products are sooo good. I get the dirty labs laundry detergent since I have a little baby with eczema. I also love how close it is to my house. The garden center is also amazing, even though I don’t have much of a green thumb it certainly has made me think about spending all my money in here to kill some plants😂

Coltrain Hardware and Garden Center is a well stocked store located right in the heart of Ayden NC. They have name brand and store brand products at competitive pricing. The staff is very friendly and helpful. If they don't have what you're looking, chances are, they can help you find it - just like "the good ole days"! They also offer online ordering with ship-to-store or home. I love their rewards program. It's a great way to earn savings coupons. They also often have great promotions and activities going on. Follow them on social media and sign up in the store to get their occasional emails to learn of what's happening!!!

I love that this store actually hires knowledgeable staff, compared to shopping at Lowe's when you have a question and the only employees that you can find is some teenager that's never even held a screwdriver. They somehow have 90% of the stuff I ever need despite being a fraction of the size so they save me a lot of driving into Greenville. They're not overpriced, and I even received a small gift card reward in the mail for my birthday. I'm always happy to support this local family-owned business.
