Job Summary:

Coltrain Hardware is looking for a skilled and experienced Stihl Service Technician to join our team. The Stihl Service Technician will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining Stihl power equipment, ensuring high-quality service and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have technical expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to providing excellent service.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Equipment Maintenance and Repair:

- Diagnose and repair Stihl power equipment, including chainsaws, trimmers, blowers, and other small engines.

- Perform routine maintenance and tune-ups on equipment to ensure optimal performance.

- Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify issues and complete repairs accurately.

2. Customer Service:

- Communicate repair and maintenance needs, costs, and timelines to customers.

- Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring customer satisfaction with all repairs and maintenance performed.

3. Technical Expertise:

- Stay up-to-date with Stihl equipment and technology advancements.

- Attend training sessions and certification programs to maintain and enhance technical skills.

- Share knowledge and expertise with other team members.

4. Inventory and Parts Management:

- Maintain an organized inventory of tools, parts, and supplies needed for repairs.

- Order necessary parts and supplies in a timely manner to ensure efficient service operations.

- Keep accurate records of parts used and repairs performed.

5. Workshop Maintenance:

- Ensure the service area is clean, organized, and safe.

- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.

- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.

6. Documentation and Reporting:

- Accurately document all repairs, maintenance, and services performed.

- Maintain detailed records of customer interactions and equipment history.

- Provide reports to the Service Manager as required.

Qualifications:

- High school senior set to graduate, a high School diploma or equivalent.

- Proven experience repairing and maintaining Stihl or similar power equipment.

- Strong mechanical and technical skills.

- Ability to diagnose and repair a wide range of equipment issues.

- Excellent customer service and communication skills.

- Basic computer skills for record-keeping and parts ordering.

- Physical ability to lift heavy equipment and perform tasks that involve bending, reaching, and standing for extended periods.

Preferred Skills:

- Certification from Stihl or other recognized small engine repair programs.

- Knowledge of hardware, tools, and building materials.

- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
